12/31/13 I was sitting at home by myself because my plans for New Years Eve fell through. Midnight hit, and I decided to get on my social media, and to my surprise, a girl had posted a photo of her kissing the guy I was recently really serious with. Awesome. Tears were strolling.
So 2015 stated off with a ridiculous amount of tears. Looking back at that day exactly a year later, I realize that I was stupid for even crying over something like that. I was stupid for even considering that to be a heart break. It’s hard at the time, but sometimes we need to have the mentality of “will this even matter a year from now?” Because 9 times out of 10, the answer will be no.
An hour later after I decided to pull myself together, I vowed to make 2014 the best year yet, and that I did, my friend.
I made 4 drastic changes to my hair in 2014. I started off platinum blonde, then died it dark brown, then went back blonde, then black. And a few months ago, I cut it all off. I still haven’t quite figured out why I feel the need to change my hair so much, but I’m hoping that that answer will come to me in 2015.
In 2014, I had the opportunity to become a better dancer and performer by performing with Brenham Independent. I met some of the most amazing people I will ever know, and some of the most amazing instructors in this country. Not only did I meet these great people, but I also competed in world championships with them and received a 2nd place medal.
2014 I also learned what it meant to love yourself. To be comfortable in your own skin. I had the opportunity to go to a 3 day women’s conference to learn the skills to have that mindset.
I also decided to give my life to Christ in 2014. And live a pure lifestyle! (I haven’t even kissed a boy all year)
I got to go scuba diving in Destin Florida!
And I also got a job teaching at Godley High school!
I gave selflessly by attending multiple homeless outreaches.
And I was called to go to Africa of which I will be starting my 2015 year out with.
I have big plans for 2015.
1. Finish my Africa trip with a new spiritual gift.
2. Write and publish my first book.
3. Pick up my camera more.
4. Become more adventurous.
5. Be healthy (Everyone has to have this on their list, right?)
6. Go to India.
7. Go to the Amazon.
8. Go to Mexico.
9. Land a job in ministry.
10. Bring more people to Christ.
I’m excited to see where I am this time next year!
Happy New Year everyone!
